Low Carb Living Made Tasty

FibreX Nutritional Information Panel.

A number of our clients have questioned us about the wording and figures used on the Nutritional Information Panel and a possible conflict with the directions on the rear of the pack. I hope the following provides some clarification.

The Australian and New Zealand Food Authority (ANZFA) are very specific with their requirement for wording on Nutritional Information Panels (N.I.P's). They require the NIP to be provided for the product in its completed form, when it has been prepared according to standard pack directions. For the FibreX, this means when half a cup of water has been added to one third of a cup of FibreX.

As per the directions on the rear of the pack, one third of a cup of FibreX (35g) is added to half a cup of water (125g). The combined weight of one serve of FibreX when ready for consumption is 160g. Surprisingly, if you measure the volume when the water and FibreX has been combined, the result is just over half a cup!

14 serves @ approx. 35g (one third of a cup) equals 490-500 grams.

We apologize for any confusion this has caused, but we strongly believe in the value of NIP's appearing on all food labels. We are currently looking at clarifying this issue on the pack whilst still meeting all of ANZFA's requirements.

Thanks for your ongoing support.
