Hello All! *waves*
Did you miss me?!
Ive been awol from here, actually living out my cyber life on Facebook (tragic I know). But Im still low carbing.
Ive lost almost 20kgs now since June last year with a combination of low calorie/controlled carbs, and low carb.
Still have 6.5 till my goal weight though!
How is everyone else going?
XO

BTW so Malcolm can be happy with me... Here is my eating plan.
630am - (Too early for breakfast, Im just starting the day and my stomach is at least an hour behind.) - Atkins Advantage Shake, made with extra water so its a nice big drink as well as giving me a kick start to my metabolism.
930am - (Starting to get a bit peckish, the boys are fed and happily doing whatever now, might be time to make some brunch to share) - Eggs and Bacon with Tomato and/or Mushrooms.
12noon - (Time to get myself something quickly, then make the boys some sandwiches or fruit, then we can all sit in peace and eat!) - Salad with meat of some sort.
230pm - (Boys are asleep, but will be up soon. Might be time for an afternoon snack) - Shake, some Tomato, or Cheese
530 - (Time to get dinner on! ) Meat with vegies for me, and the family, the guys get spuds, I just have salad or vegies.
830 - (Getting close to bed time, might have a snack now to keep the metabolism going) - Shake, Diet Jelly, Cheese, or hot chocolate made with splenda, coco and cream.
Next day, up and start it all again.
PS . Ive ditched the diet drinks except on special occasions, and am drinking plain water, peppermint tea or DandeDetox (dandelion, cinnamon, etc for cleansing) without sweetner. I dont even drink tea anymore.... Its ages since I had a splenda except in cooking! _________________

Very happy ... well apart from the Atkins rubbish - I'd say as penance for being awol for so long you should read this thread (yes all of it!!) - as you see, you aren't the only one who has 'discovered' shakes and some of the recipes are better, very EASY and no doubt cheaper to boot. _________________ Cheers,

Kat, Congratulation on your amazing achievement you have done extremely well considering you didn't think that low carb was for you.
Keep up the good work

You know what you can do with 20 odd pages Malcolm? LOL
Im sure there are better ones out there, but its so darn easy to be able to grab the shake from the supermarket when Im doing the grocery shopping.
If I switch to something I order online or have to go to a health food store for you can betcha that I'd be cheating within a few weeks.
Although, I might need to ditch the shakes, Im maintaining, but NOT losing right now. Thinking they might not be helping my stall. _________________

Loz - It would be lovely to see you again if you manage to get down this way!
Mum and Dad are going great guns at the moment, you just cant keep them down.
Early December dad had a stroke, he had pnuenomia (sp?) and then scans showed what they thought was lung cancer... He had all the tests, got antibiotics and kicked the pnuenomia, recovered fully from the stroke, and turned out the lung cancer was actually just gunk left from the infection.
Then last week he got bitten by a snake. Couldnt tell the next day, he was fine other than the black arm! LOL Drs were quite amazed by him.
He's a tough old bugger!
Mum is on Tony Ferguson. Having shakes for snack and eating low carb for her meals, etc. She's lost 6kgs in the last month or so, and is feeling pretty darn proud of herself.
Her sister died on Boxing Day though so that has been hard, we were all quite close and Mum and Barb were very close. Mum managed to get a flight to NZ on Xmas day and arrived just in time to see Barb for a few hours. So that was a small blessing at least.
As for me, Ive been really sick the past year, my medcation was affecting me so I was being tested for all sorts of auto immune things, gained 22kgs from my post pregnancy weight and then once I was finally getting some answers there.....I got the dreaded swine flu and spent months in and out of Dr's offices and even threw in a couple of trips to hospital. Last week I had a complex ovarian cyst rupture that landed me in hospital for the day, not much fun but feeling back to normal again now.
Ready for this year to be a much happier and healthier one all around.
At least Mr O and Mr G are doing well. O is at pre kinder now, and loves it. Starts music school in a few weeks too.
G is walking and talking somewhat.
Steven is good as well. Nothing much to report anywhere else! LOL _________________

Wow indeed. Hope you have a boring year this year!
Things are pretty good here - although having a struggle getting any work started today - much to nice sitting in the shade drinking just one more coffee! Been a great summer weather wise, and no fires yet which is good and a worry at the same time - rather too much grass around here, and I guess you are the same.
Finally got rid of all my summer visitors yesterday, so there is a heap I have to do, both on the work front and also on the diet/detox front - just finishing up this lot of beans, then it is decaf for a while!
More scolding later! _________________ Cheers,

haven't been around for a long time
Am back to being a fatty again, but the Dr has told me that its time to get it all off again and revert to getting back to the person I used to be, not me.5
Thought I'd log on to here to see who was doing what, when, where, how etc and perhaps to gain some motivation to lose this weight again. I was so good for so long! _________________ This is where my signature would be if I could think of anything witty to put here. |

Hey TD, all you need to do is remember how good low carb makes you feel ... and you will be right back in the saddle.
Perhaps a 6W detox is just what you need to kick start things ... _________________ Cheers,

At the moment, I'd be happy if the alcohol would depart from our house for longer than 3 days at a time!!!!!! _________________ This is where my signature would be if I could think of anything witty to put here. |
